Two weeks of Music and Theatre

It all started two weeks ago on Thursday April 23rd when Jammers Nite Club opened for the season with a KG Entertainment production of the Harold Pinter play The Birthday Party and the revival of our weekly Thursday night Gig. The play ran two weeks and received rave reviews  with many of the theatre goers staying  for most or all of the evening to listen and/or participate on hand percussion with the us. Kaleb Fricke joined us as well with vocal cameos most of the nights. Both Fidays had the open jam running which was tremendously attended with musicians and audience members. Saturday nights also were delightful especially the last one when we were treated to Karissa Korbel’s Jazz Prowess. We had just played for her senior vocal recital at BSU and she then joined us at the club for a celebration and we ran through a number of awesome pieces including a duet with Caleb on Gershwins Summertime. Between the closing party for the play the celebration of the recital and a six night run for myself and most of the band it was a night of release and joy complete with a bonfire on a rather pleasant night in the great northwoods. Next Thursday we’ll do it again. 🙂
